About the role
ASCENDZE PTE. LTD. is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team in the Singapore River Central Region. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components.As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in translating conceptual ideas into practical, manufacturable designs whilst ensuring optimal performance, reliability and cost-effectiveness. This position is based in our Singapore River Central Region office, providing you with access to a dynamic work environment and collaborative engineering community.
Key responsibilities- Develop detailed mechanical designs utilising computer-aided design (CAD) software to create technical drawings and 3D models
- Conduct feasibility studies and preliminary design reviews to assess the viability of proposed mechanical solutions
- Perform engineering calculations and stress analysis to validate design integrity and ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance and project management to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including engineering drawings, bills of materials and assembly instructions
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to optimise performance and manufacturability
- Support prototype development and testing phases, troubleshooting design issues and implementing improvements
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to source components and materials that meet design specifications
- Maintain knowledge of current industry standards, best practices and emerging technologies in mechanical design
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in Automation or Equipment mechanical design
- Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science and manufacturing processes
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple concurrent design projects
