IT Operations Officer (Data Centre, Shiftwork)

What you’ll do:

1. Operate in the Network Operations Centre (NOC)
2. Manage, control, release batch, including processing and troubleshooting where required
3. Monitor file transfers across internal and external systems and oversee scheduled batch jobs, responding immediately to any alerts or anomalies.
4. Attend to operations job failures, perform first-level investigation, and ensure that incident reports are resolved within SLA timelines.
5. Escalate issues to the respective support teams and follow through where necessary.
6. Perform proactive monitoring of critical systems and infrastructure services through a centralised IT Operations Management system, escalating alerts promptly to prevent service disruption.
7. Maintain the safety, cleanliness and security of the Data Centre at all times.
8. Report any security infringement, alarms, or emergencies to the supervisor promptly.
9. Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of operating procedures, ensuring compliance with established operational standards.
10. Undertake any other duties as assigned from time to time to support operational needs.

What You'll Need:

1. Diploma in Information Technology, IT Engineering or equivalent qualification
2. Willing to work rotating shifts to support 24x7 operations.
3. Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant experience
4. Able to work with minimal supervision and cover the duty of Senior IT Support Officer during their absence.
5. Hands-on experience in Data Centre Operations, including batch job processing, backup and archiving, and system health monitoring across SAP and non-SAP environments.
6. Operational knowledge with batch job scheduler, enterprise backup and archiving system and IT operations monitoring system is preferred.
7. Strong analytical skills with good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities.
8. Must be able to multi-task.
9. Able to work independently and proactively in supporting daily mission-critical operations and projects.
10. Flexible to work across multiple data centre locations based on duty roster.
11. Experience supporting production systems, including making configuration changes to automated batch scheduler systems and maintaining related documentation.
