Senior Production Planner

Key Responsibilities

Perform order verification and ensure data integrity by validating production orders released by Material Planner including Master Data, BOMs, and routing accuracy in MES
Develop and maintain production schedules across diverse manufacturing processes, balancing workload between automated (laser/NCT) and manual (welding/assembly) operations
Conduct real-time resource and material availability checks using SAP, and coordinate with Warehouse, Material Planner, and Procurement teams to ensure production readiness
Partner with Production Supervisors to execute daily production plans and ensure adherence to schedules; implement recovery actions for deviations
Monitor real-time production status via MES to identify bottlenecks and proactively adjust schedules to mitigate delays
Oversee system lifecycle activities and financial closing, ensuring accurate recording of labour, material, and scrap data in MES and SAP
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimising nesting strategies, batch sizes, and changeover processes to reduce lead time and waste
Support cross-site capacity planning initiatives (e.g. Singapore and Malaysia), optimising machine and labour resources to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as On-Time Delivery (OTD), capacity utilisation, and production variance
Provide data-driven insights and reports to support operational and management decision-making

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline
Minimum 10 years of experience in production planning, preferably in sheet metal fabrication or precision machining industries
Strong proficiency in SAP (PP and MM modules) and hands-on experience with MES systems
Good understanding of fabrication processes such as nesting, cutting, bending, CNC, welding, and assembly
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and shop floor personnel
Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Willing to work overtime when required to meet production deadlines or support month-end closing
Able to respond to urgent production issues outside of standard working hours when necessary
