Responsibilities The Controller for Technology ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency, and risk management within the Technology division. This role requires a deep understanding of technology operations, financial controls, and regulatory compliance to support strategic decision-making and safeguard the bank's technology assets.
The Controller establishes robust financial processes, drives cost optimization, and manages technology-related risks in alignment with the bank's risk appetite. As part of Group Finance, this role contributes to world-class reporting, financial planning, and finance processes, providing insights and analyses for sound business decisions, capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
Financial Management & Control: Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the Technology division, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget, identifying variances and driving corrective actions.
Develop and implement strong internal controls over financial reporting and technology expenditures. Manage technology-related procurement and vendor contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with bank policies. Drive cost optimization initiatives within the Technology division, including analysis of technology investments and operational expenditures.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the Technology division to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Perform month-end close processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of financials. Work closely with countries to review monthly financial performance, investigate variances, and identify business risks and opportunities.
Operational Excellence: Collaborate with technology teams to improve operational processes and drive efficiency in technology delivery. Support the implementation of process changes and the change agenda within the Technology Finance team. Prepare financial performance reports and insightful commentaries to track and drive business performance and enable strategic and operational decisions.
Conduct monthly review meetings with senior Platform stakeholders and Finance Leads. Support the Platform Heads and the CFO in preparing the quarterly Business Review with the CTO and CEO. Own and be accountable for timeliness, data accuracy, and process adaptation in delivering various Regional Reporting datasets and reports to stakeholders.
Strategic Partnership: Act as a key financial advisor to the Head of Tech Platforms and other senior technology leaders, providing strategic financial guidance and support. Translate complex financial information into actionable insights for technology stakeholders.
Foster a culture of financial accountability and risk awareness within the Technology division. Serve as a proactive partnering role and trusted financial advisor to the businesses to resolve strategic and operational challenges. Requirements Experienced finance professional with minimum 10 years of experience in banking technology finance.
CA/CPA/ACCA qualified Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in financial control, audit, or risk management roles within a technology-intensive environment, preferably in the financial services industry. Proven experience in managing budgets, financial forecasting, and reporting for large technology organizations.
