Procurement Engineer

You will be responsible for the development of global suppliers of components, products and external services supporting the product development and enterprise operations. You will manage the supplier relationships in various modes of outsourcing (ODM, OEM), purchasing; co-operate with internal projects /departments and external suppliers/ partners to ensure that the material and service meet pre-determined technical and commercial targets.

• Source for materials, services and vendors; obtain and review quotes; negotiate for best price and terms; prepare/review purchase orders
• Plan and coordinate timely delivery of purchases
• Support cost reduction programs for new and existing projects
• Conduct routine BOM cost reviews/ scrubs internally and with the vendors/ ODMs to ensure market competitive pricing is being achieved
• Lead-time reduction negotiation
• Work with cross-functional teams, including all projects and support R&D from end-to-end product life cycle mass production
• Work with existing or new vendors to lower materials cost through value engineering, reversed engineering, new design, alternative substitution, or relaxing of tolerance or standard of the materials
• Manage supplier’s performance to achieve required quality and delivery performance
• Perform quality audits and control deliveries on a case-by-case basis
• Involved in engineering changes regarding components, products and/or engineering & production processes. Follow up on any corrective actions regarding material and process-improvement
• Perform internal audit of procurement/purchasing process and vendors at various subsidiaries within the group
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering disciplines
• Minimum 3 years working experience in purchasing and sourcing for Electronics Components
• Knowledge of SAPB1 is preferred but not a must
• Possess strong sourcing and negotiation skills
• Must be a highly driven individual with good track record to execute all duties in the role
• Must have strong communications (oral and written) and good team player
• Working location at Bukit Merah Area
