Junior Systems Engineer

UWCSEA Dover is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to join our collaborative IT Team. This hybrid role bridges enterprise IT infrastructure operations and end-user technical support. Partnering with the Infrastructure Team, you will monitor, maintain, and secure our campus network and server environments, optimizing network performance to deliver a seamless digital experience for faculty and students.

The Day-to-Day- Assist in the administration, configuration, and maintenance of campus LAN, WAN, and WLAN wireless systems.
- Perform cross-platform system administration, security patching, and performance tuning across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Deliver technical support, handle user device deployments via MDM, and manage video conferencing and VOIP telephony systems.
- Monitor network traffic to optimize bandwidth and troubleshoot connectivity issues across high-density campus learning environments.
- Support core IT infrastructure projects including hardware refreshes, software license renewals, and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or Network Engineering, paired with 3–5 years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience.
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, VLAN segmentation, MDM software deployment solutions, and cross-platform OS administration (Windows, VMware, macOS).
- Disciplined schedule adherence for maintenance windows alongside strong communication skills to translate backend anomalies into jargon-free updates.
