Reporting to the Regional General Manager - SEA, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for managing and owning the end-to-end sales process within designated markets, including carbide cutter manufacturing, aerospace, medical, general industry, fluid handling, semiconductor, and oil & gas.

The role involves promoting and selling the company's portfolio of hard and super-hard materials, such as cemented carbide, synthetic diamond, and cubic boron nitride (CBN).

Job Summary

The primary objective of this role is to expand market share and establish a strong presence within the Machining/General Industry, Aerospace, Medtech, Automotive, and specialized components sectors. This includes developing key customer relationships and executing the business strategy aligned with the assigned industry segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individual sales plans to achieve defined sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within designated market segments.
  • Maintain and update personal CRM records, manage the sales funnel, and submit regular reports on sales activities and market development to support achievement of sales budgets.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively sell customized solutions without relying on a standard product catalog.
  • Strengthen market presence through various activities, including attending industry trade shows, conducting regular customer visits, and staying informed on market trends.
  • Actively support accounts receivable efforts by monitoring overdue payments and maintaining direct communication with customers.
  • Provide tailored, value-added solutions based on specific project requirements, including delivering technical presentations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely execution of orders and lead commercial discussions and negotiations related to proposals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's products and solutions.

You Bring:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in technical sales.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the metal cutting or machining industry, in either a sales or engineering capacity, is highly preferred.
  • Prior knowledge or experience in process manufacturing or toolmaking industries-such as toolmaking, process engineering, or the manufacture of tungsten carbide, CBN, or diamond tools-is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • An educational background in Engineering, particularly Mechanical or Materials Technology, is highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated commitment to enhancing customer productivity through value-based selling approaches.
  • Proficiency in sales data analysis and strong computer literacy are essential.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the country of operation.
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess at least a trade background, demonstrating strong technical aptitude combined with effective interpersonal and communication skills across various levels. A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive within a growing team environment are essential.

Additionally, a working knowledge of material science, particularly in cemented carbide or synthetic diamond-is highly advantageous.
