Infrastructure Operations Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an Infra Operations Engineer with a primary focus on-premises to join our team. The ideal candidate should also have secondary experience in Cloud and will be responsible for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of on premise and cloud infrastructure within the Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) environment on Azure/AWS.

The Infra Operations Engineer will play a key role to ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, security optimisation and resiliency.

The role will also coordinate with different internal teams and external vendors/partners to ensure successful cloud migration projects, provide expert views, inputs and recommendations based on technical judgment, as well as to drive processes and execution goals.

Responsibilities:

Support, deploy, and maintain infrastructure solutions within on-premises and cloud environment, ensuring compliance with government security standards.

Implement and manage services, including compute, managed services (Container/Serverless), storage, networking, and security, while adhering to government security standards and integrating with DevSecOps principles / Microservices architectural concepts.

Monitor and optimize resources to meet performance, security, reliability, resiliency and cost targets within the environment.

Develop and maintain automation scripts for provisioning, configuration, and orchestration of one-premises and cloud resources in alignment with Government best practices, with a focus on DevSecOps principles.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with services.

Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues within the on-premises and cloud environment, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid incident response to respective application teams.

Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning to support business objectives and evolving legislative or legal requirements for systems within the on-premises and cloud environment.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of on-premises and cloud operations processes and procedures.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in on-premises and cloud technologies, particularly within the GCC Azure/AWS context, and recommend innovative solutions.

Requirements:

Diploma/bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing on-premises and cloud infrastructure within the Azure environment or AWS environment.

Strong understanding of on-premises and Azure services, architecture, and best practices ideally within GCC context.

Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CLI, or similar technologies within the on-premises and cloud environment.

Relevant Azure experience and/or certifications are highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
