Role Opportunity: Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager's role is to:

  1. Responsible for country’s sales leads (prospects) generated from strategic partnerships and lead generation events to provide new business opportunities.
  2. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Government organizations, industry associations and thought leaders.
  3. Manage cross-function solution design for Enterprise customers and cascade the solutions to SME sales channels.
  4. Support sales teams in tender response, preparation and management.
  5. Represent Commercial to streamline process and interactions to improve customer experience.

Your Tasks

Stakeholder : External
  • Manage a portfolio of partners to generate sales leads through joint events and programs.
  • Act as the partners’ main point of contact, by liaising closely with the relevant departments within DHL to ensure that their queries, problems or issues are dealt with appropriately.
  • Management of the business relationship with key customers as well as large internal customers including DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Global Mail & DHL Supply Chain.
  • Develop relationships with government organizations, Chambers of Commerce and Industry Associations.
Stakeholder : Internal
  • Liaise with other functions to deliver industry solutions that are scalable and replicable.
  • Work with the Operations group to Identify improvement opportunities, aimed at improving bottom line profits and service levels.
  • Support sales calls to drive business performance. Ensure cooperation with members of the identified sales team and supporting functions in developing projects and solutions.
  • Undertake sufficient training inputs & sessions with the country sales trainer to ensure sufficient knowledge on the solutions across the sales team.
  • Support in Tender management (review, preparation and response) for large strategic locally managed accounts.
  • Develop sales leads for telemarketing qualification through partnership programs and events.
Country Office (Country Manager, Corp Comms)
  • Liaise with external partners on behalf of Managing Director, Corporate Communications and Research and Planning as necessary.
  • Ensure that all customer issues relating to identified sales team's Customer Solutions are coordinated and managed through the relevant DHL departments.
  • Meet regularly with the Operations & IT management to evaluate the personal sales plan/strategy so as to ensure that the required revenue and shipment results can be achieved.
What You Bring
  • Minimum 3 years of DHL consultative/solution-based sales experience.
  • Ability to manage and develop relationships and negotiate at all levels of management in our customers’ organization.
  • Good understanding of the Express industry including logistics practices, technology support and interfaces, etc
  • Commitment to service and support both internal and external customers is essential.
  • Proficient in MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong in both written and spoken English.
  • Minimum Degree in any discipline, preferred.
