Technical Support Engineer - Bukit Merah

Location: Lavender / Kallang

Our client is a well-established MNC that manufactures automation sensors, vision systems & measuring instruments.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Technical Support Engineer to join our team. This position involves supporting our sales and customer base through application testing, technical consultation, and troubleshooting.

• Act as the main technical contact for internal sales teams and customers, responding to product inquiries via phone, email, or in person.
• Provide consultation on product features, applications, and specifications.
• Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting for customer-specific applications.
• Deliver technical training and demonstrations for sales representatives and clients.
• Create and maintain manuals, training materials, and technical documentation.
• Liaise with our headquarters in Japan regarding new product launches and technical content.
• Support onsite customer visits with sales staff, offering technical insight and assistance as needed.
• Assist with quotation preparation and order processing where necessary.
• Contribute to internal projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and service quality.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field).
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience; no experience with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
• Job requirements involving heavier equipment handling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex topics in a clear, concise manner.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Service-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge or experience in PLC systems; Beckhoff PLC experience will be a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with measurement systems, microscopes, vision systems.
• Understanding of SCADA/HMI programming and communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet, Serial.
• Exposure to sensors, actuators, servo/stepper motors, and basic control systems.
• Programming knowledge in C#, Java, or Python, and databases like SQL/MySQL is a plus.
