Job Description
- Key roles include providing technical expert advice on use of qualified equipment, work process flows, operating procedures, troubleshooting & training.
- Additional roles include performing R&D on new technology, customization for business requirements & implementation of solution. Using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
- Review engineering drawing & specifications, design and execute engineering experiments, calculations and statistical control for new products & processes.
- Delivering engineering activities to support and improve the company’s manufacturing & supply chain operations.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are capable of meeting and continue to meet quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time requirements to customers.
- Perform trouble shooting & analysis of production & process issues for cleanroom & non-cleanroom operations. Perform process redesign where required.
- Support qualification & setup (where applicable) of new materials, recipe, processes & system application for both cleanroom & non-cleanroom operations.
- Identify opportunities for new or improved processes to meet current or future requirements.
- Perform new equipment & materials validation using standards involving IQ, OQ & PQ methodology.
- Source new suppliers, qualify specifications & perform cost estimation to price out project expenses.
- Support new business projects & technology implementation.
- Research, Procure, Qualify & Implement new solutions (equipment or materials).
- Train & build technical & process capabilities within department while providing technical expert support to other MM sites.
- AI-Related activities on robotic process automation and AI development.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties / projects which may be required from time to time.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process optimization, automation and AI development.
- Min Higher Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, IT Engineering, Process Engineering, Supply Chain or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of related working experience.
- General awareness of Manufacturing Systems e.g. CAD, Manufacturing Execution System, ERP & Technical Publications.
- General experience with workflow Simulation software (e.g. Flexsim) & Robotic Process Automation (e.g. Microsoft Power Automate Desktop).
- Experience with write-ups on work procedure workflow & instructions for production process.
- Experience with statistical process control & other quality/performance control tools.
- Ability to apply ISO13485, GDPMDS & other ISO standards to existing operations & into new businesses.
- Knowledge on end-to-end processes from technical/material qualification, process qualification to manufacturing & supply chain logistics engineering.
- Good presentation skills and good grasp of the MS Office (Word, Power Point and Excel).
- Resourceful, able to independently conduct research & apply new solution to business requirements.
- Proven Project management skills.
- Independent, self-motivated, process oriented & analytical.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills, able to work with minimum supervision.
- Able to interpret simple print specification.
- Attention to details and accuracy of work.
- Mechanical/Electrical knowledge & skill for troubleshooting machines.
- Knowledge of 3D printing is an advantage.
- Working Knowledge of LEAN/6-Sigma/Simulation.
- Able to work in Office, Cleanroom and Warehouse Environment.
- Able to travel when required.
