Job Description
The Central FP&A Management Reporting team plays a critical role in supporting Finance Director and the university leadership team in driving financial insights, strategic planning, and performance measurement across the university. This role will oversee the development and delivery of management reporting, lead the multi-year planning process, coordinate quarterly financial reviews, and provide meaningful analysis to support data-driven decision making.
This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders across university to drive insightful financial analysis to promote financial excellence, lead continuous improvement on operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality management reporting that provides clear, actionable insights to executive leadership for strategic decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth financial and strategic analyses to identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends across the institution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate cost efficiency initiatives, productivity metrics, and resource optimization strategies.
- Benchmark financial and operational performance against peer institutions and industry standards to inform continuous improvement.
- Partner with finance and business units to support the preparation and oversight of budgets, multi-year financial plans, and rolling forecasts.
- Lead financial review cycles, including variance analysis, performance commentary, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, systems, and methodologies to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and business impact.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with deep expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), strategic finance, and business partnering.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage data analytics and technology tools to drive data-informed insights and improve FP&A effectiveness.
- Proven experience in developing and leading budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning processes in complex environments.
- Strong project and change management skills, with a track record of successfully managing multiple priorities and delivering under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills—able to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire, develop, and manage high-performing teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, align, and build trust across departments and senior leadership.
- Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and operational efficiencies in finance functions.
- Knowledge of best practices in FP&A, including performance metrics, cost modeling, and scenario analysis
