Toa Payoh - Senior Speech Therapist (2 years contract)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Duties
  • To provide effective Speech Therapy (ST) assessment and treatment for clients (adult population) in the different care settings
  • To establish rehabilitation needs, potential, and therapy goals to optimize clients’ function
  • To provide clients and caregivers with education and training in self-management, with the emphasis on the importance of client-centered care and effective communication
  • To lead and/or participate actively in Client Review meetings with other team members
  • To recommend discharge and continuity of care plans that address clients’ physical health, psychological, social and emotional aspects in consultation with relevant stakeholders
  • To facilitate community integration through collaboration with community partners when required
Education and Training
  • To develop, support and conduct training to therapists, staff and students
  • To develop curriculum and training programs for staffs through different modes, e.g. on-the-job training, online learning etc.
  • To keep abreast of advances in the profession and to contribute to the development of the department
  • To lead or/and participate in research and quality improvement projects
  • To provide public talks for volunteers and the communities
Supervision and Team Development
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of department’s policies and procedures.
Administration and Operation
  • To provide statistics and reports (e.g workload, manpower, incidents, budgeting) to Head, Allied Health
  • Manage feedback from various stakeholders
  • To conduct clinical and compliance audits for upholding of care standards and practices
  • Assist in the implementation and promotion of new clinical services
  • Monitor individual and/or team’s clinical and non-clinical key performance indicators
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head, Allied Health
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Therapy from a recognized institute
  • Obtained full registration and licensed by Allied Health Professional Council to practice in Singapore (AHPC)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Relevant experience/qualification in training and development of training curriculum
  • Willing to travel to MWS centers/client’s home as part of work
