Preschool Teacher

About the Role

At Odyssey, our teachers are passionate early childhood educators who believe in nurturing the whole child. You will work closely with the Curriculum Specialist (CS) as a teaching partner, sharing classroom teaching and routine care responsibilities in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Developing the Whole Child

• Collaborate with the Curriculum Specialist to plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Odyssey’s teaching philosophy and pedagogy.
• Support the application and evaluation of positive classroom management strategies.
• Participate in classroom observations to plan intentional and differentiated learning strategies.
• Build trusting and respectful relationships with children through positive and responsive interactions.

• Work with the teaching team to design and maintain a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment that supports children’s development.

• Adhere to operational procedures and SOPs to ensure children’s health, safety, nutrition, and hygiene standards are consistently met.

Collaborating with Families and Community

• Foster strong rapport with families through daily communication and customer-centric parent partnership practices.
• Participate in and co-facilitate collaborative initiatives involving families and community stakeholders.

Building Professional Capacity

• Engage in continuous professional learning and reflective practice to support personal growth and contribute to the school’s learning community.

• Demonstrate professionalism and apply early childhood education ethics in alignment with Odyssey’s philosophy, culture, and core values.

Building Organisational Capacity

• Contribute positively to a collaborative and effective teaching team within the class and school.

• Embrace and embody Odyssey’s vision, mission, and values in daily teaching practices.
• Support school outreach initiatives, community events, and home-school partnership programmes.

• Minimum Diploma in Preschool Teaching (recognised by ECDA).
• Strong communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with colleagues, parents, families, and community partners from diverse backgrounds.
• Teaching experience is an advantage, but candidates without experience are welcome to apply.
• Highly motivated, energetic, and passionate about children’s learning and development.
