This position seeks an IT Asset Management Manager who will spearhead the effective and strategic management of IT assets within an insurance company. The ideal candidate will excel at overseeing all aspects of IT assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.

Description

Oversee the lifecycle management of IT assets-from procurement through retirement-including hardware, software, and mobile devices.
  • Manage physical hardware inventory such as servers, desktops, laptops, Mac computers, storage devices, network gear, and mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, SIM cards).
  • Maintain and track software assets including operating systems, databases, and end-user computing (EUC) software.
  • Ensure compliance with internal asset management policies and external governance frameworks.
  • Monitor and report on End-of-Life (EOL) and End-of-Support (EOS) assets; coordinate timely upgrades or decommissions.
  • Maintain a centralized asset inventory using tools such as Qualys, ServiceNow, and JIRA.
  • Conduct regular inventory reconciliation and perform periodic physical audits.
  • Manage the intake, approval, procurement, and allocation of IT assets using established workflows.
  • Track and manage hardware/software maintenance and support contracts, ensuring timely renewals.
  • Lead and support technology refresh initiatives, working closely with infrastructure and application teams.
  • Oversee IT asset disposal following regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Provide regular asset reports, dashboards, and insights to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams (Operations, Technical Services, Projects, Engineering), as well as Finance and Procurement, to maintain complete and accurate asset records.

Profile

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing and executing IT asset management policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Analyze and track asset data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Develop processes to monitor asset accountability, maintenance status, location, and contractual obligations.
  • Negotiate software and hardware license terms in collaboration with vendors.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting activities related to software licenses and hardware lifecycle planning.
  • Improve asset tracking tools, workflows, and desktop software management practices continuously.
  • Collaborate with Technology, Product, and Finance to align asset strategy with business goals and product roadmaps.
  • Conduct strategic analysis of technology assets to support decisions on acquisition, implementation, and retirement.
  • Monitor software license usage to ensure compliance with vendor agreements.
  • Define cost-saving initiatives and service improvement opportunities with cross-functional teams.
  • Deliver well-organized, recurring reports and presentations for key stakeholders.
  • Partner with teams to implement and optimize asset management systems and workflows, including request forms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Asset Management or related discipline.
  • Experience managing asset tools such as ServiceNow, Qualys, JIRA, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and asset lifecycle best practices.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with hardware/software procurement, vendor negotiation, and budgeting.
