About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and commercially minded Assistant Manager, Supply Chain Operations to support and strengthen our regional freight and operational execution across multiple markets.
This role is suited for a candidate with 3–5 years of experience in logistics, freight coordination or supply chain operations who is ready to take on broader ownership, including freight cost optimisation, forwarder management and operational coordination.
The role will support the seamless movement of ocean and air freight from key sourcing markets into Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia, while driving operational efficiency and identifying opportunities to improve service and reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
Freight & Logistics Management- Plan and coordinate ocean and air freight shipments across regional markets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Consolidate shipments and support ordering programs to optimize freight utilization and landed costs.
- Source, compare and negotiate competitive freight rates with forwarders and logistics partners to support cost savings initiatives.
- Monitor freight market trends and proactively identify opportunities to improve freight costs, service levels and lead times.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with freight forwarders, carriers and brands.
- Coordinate shipment bookings, collections, delivery schedules and shipping documentation to ensure smooth execution.
- Maintain freight tracking tools and shipment visibility reports for proactive follow-up and issue resolution.
- Work with supply chain and warehouse teams to monitor inventory flow, aging stocks and stock at risk of expiry.
- Support day-to-day supply chain operations to ensure smooth order fulfilment and timely deliveries.
- Partner closely with procurement, sales, warehouse and customer service teams to coordinate operational requirements.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Monitor freight and operational costs against budgets and identify opportunities for resource optimization.
- Support resolution of operational exceptions, delivery issues and supply chain disruptions in a timely manner.
- Participate in periodic operational reviews and support follow-through on improvement initiatives.
- Ensure shipping, import/export and operational documentation are complete and compliant with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance with company SOPs, freight regulations and audit requirements.
- Prepare regular reports on freight costs, shipment performance, service levels and key supply chain KPIs.
- Support management with analysis and recommendations on freight and operational performance.
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in freight, logistics and supply chain operations.
- Experience in freight coordination and exposure to freight rate negotiation / forwarder management preferred.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good commercial awareness, with an interest in cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications; ERP or freight systems experience is advantageous.
