Company Overview

We are an importer and distributor of pastry and bakery ingredients, supplying a wide range of chilled and frozen products. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Assistant to support warehouse operations, including picking, packing, and stock handling in temperature-controlled environments.

Job Summary

The successful candidate should be safety-conscious, physically fit, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

• Pick and pack goods accurately according to delivery orders, invoices, or picking lists
• Handle products stored in freezer and chiller rooms
• Prepare goods for loading and delivery in a timely and accurate manner
• Operate a reach truck safely for stock movement, put-away, and retrieval where required
• Assist in loading and unloading incoming and outgoing goods
• Check product quantity, condition, batch numbers, and expiry dates where required
• Ensure correct labelling and packing of items before dispatch
• Arrange and store products properly in designated warehouse locations
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of warehouse, freezer, and chiller areas
• Follow company procedures for stock handling, food safety, and workplace safety
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks when required
• Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies, equipment issues, or operational concerns to the supervisor
• Support general warehouse duties as assigned

• Physically fit and able to carry and move goods safely
• Able to work long hours in freezer and chiller environments
• Comfortable performing manual handling and repetitive picking and packing work
• Able to operate a reach truck safely and efficiently
• Possession of a valid forklift or reach truck licence will be an advantage
• Responsible, hardworking, and able to work independently
• Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Basic warehouse experience is preferred
• Experience handling chilled or frozen food products will be an advantage
• Familiarity with pastry, bakery, or food distribution products is a plus

• Work is performed in cold room environments, including freezer and chiller storage areas
• Role may require prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of goods
• Operation of warehouse equipment such as reach trucks may be required
• Overtime or extended working hours may be required depending on operational needs
