Full Stack Engineer (6 Months Contract) - Toa Payoh
We are hiring on behalf of a leading global healthcare company known for its trusted portfolio of consumer health products. As part of their growing regional team, the Full Stack Lead Engineer will play a pivotal role in hands-on software engineering role responsible for developing digital healthcare solutions for our Japan market as the key focus, with options to participate in regional and global workstreams based on the individual’s interest.
Employment type: Initial 6 months contractRemuneration range: $10,000 to $12,500month + Performance Bonuses

Role Overview:
Software Engineering & Architecture- Lead a squad of engineers in building and maintaining software applications, translating user stories into clean, working code.
- Conduct end-to-end architecture reviews across all levels—context, container, component, and code—within full stack environments.
- Design systems with an API-first and mobile-first approach, ensuring solutions are scalable and aligned with modern architectural standards.
- Establish and communicate a unified technical and architectural vision to guide solution development and ensure it serves its intended purpose.
- Champion clean coding practices grounded in BDD, TDD, SOLID principles, and object-oriented design.
- Apply collaborative programming techniques including pair and mob programming to improve code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure robust test coverage and code reliability through automated testing frameworks and DevOps pipelines (CI/CD).
- Take ownership of system reliability by ensuring strong practices in exception handling, security, and logging.
- Oversee deployment processes and drive continuous integration and delivery practices to enhance software quality and release speed.
- Manage and optimize performance of backend services built using JavaScript, Java (Spring Boot), and PHP.
- Monitor and reduce technical debt while implementing performance tuning and reliability enhancements.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and foster a high-performance engineering culture.
- Collaborate with product/platform teams to develop customer-centric digital experiences for employees, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Support Product Owners in defining user stories, refining acceptance criteria, and contributing to sprint planning and delivery outcomes.
- Work with fellow Lead Engineers to address cross-squad challenges, resolve dependencies, and provide input on resource planning for critical bottlenecks.
- Take initiative to onboard new engineers, advocate for process improvements, and contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the team.
- Degree in the fields related to Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, with minimum 3 years of full stack experience
- Experience using two or more development languages(Java, JavaScript, Typescript, Python, .NET, React, Nodejs etc.) with experience in Object-Oriented programming and with at least 1 year in a technical leadership position
- Experience in crafting and implementing API-based solutions using Cloud native platforms, for solutions that need to operate at scale
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment, and has worked in teams that has the ability to deploy to a production-like environment multiple times per day
- Able to liaise with Japan market - This will be a plus & added advantage
