Roles & Responsibilities

A General Manager of Business Development is a senior leadership role focused on driving revenue growth and market expansion through strategic initiatives. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, developing sales strategies, and overseeing the implementation of business development plans.

They also manage and mentor a team, ensuring alignment with company goals and market trends.

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts.
  • Create and execute sales strategies with accurate forecasts.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to identify and pursue new market opportunities, aligning with overall company objectives.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research, analyze market trends, and assess competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business partnerships.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Create and implement effective sales strategies to increase revenue and market share, including pricing strategies and product/service expansions.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate and close deals with clients and partners, ensuring favorable terms and outcomes.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, fostering a growth-oriented environment and ensuring high performance standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work with various departments, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to align strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyse key performance indicators and the effectiveness of business development initiatives and make necessary adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development related to industrial products or solution sales (Diploma/Degree/Engineering)
  • Proven track record in leading sales and technical initiatives across regional markets.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience analysing, Projects, cash flow, and finical organising.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
