Cluster hire in active tectonics and earthquake hazards (Asst/Assoc Professor)

The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase) is an interdisciplinary school at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) that uses Earth and environmental science, engineering, technology, and the social sciences to address key environmental challenges.

ASE is a school within the NTU College of Science (CoS). The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) (https://earthobservatory.sg/) is a research institute with the mission to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies.

ASE and EOS seek to appoint several accomplished and visionary scientists as Assistant (Tenure Track) or Associate Professors (Tenure Track or Tenured) in Active Tectonics and Earthquake Hazards. (Full Professor positions may also be considered for exceptional candidates.) We welcome applicants with research interests including but not limited to observational, computational, and theoretical seismology (e.g., wave physics, earthquake source processes, and imaging of the Earth’s crust and mantle), exploration seismology (seismic reflection and refraction), earthquake geology, rock mechanics, and seismic hazard analysis and risk modeling.

Candidates with expertise in using seismic observations and waveform modeling to understand earthquake processes are particularly encouraged to apply.
