Key Responsibilities
- Production Support & Issue Management
- Act as the main contact for day-to-day production support, working closely with Front Office, Back Office, Operations, Finance, and Risk teams to quickly resolve issues related to trade processing, settlement, and reconciliation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement long-term fixes.
- Monitor system performance and transaction flows to proactively detect and mitigate operational risks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements Gathering
- Engage with regional offices and business units to collect detailed requirements for new initiatives or system upgrades.
- Convert business needs into clear functional specifications and use cases, ensuring consistency across global teams.
- Lead workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs to validate requirements and manage scope changes effectively.
- Project Coordination & Delivery
- Work with project managers and technical teams to plan and deliver system enhancements and new features within set timelines and budgets.
- Participate in Agile or hybrid project activities such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and review meetings.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating with business users to ensure solutions meet expectations and regulatory standards.
- Technical Development & System Expertise
- Contribute to system configuration, customization, and optimization to enhance application performance and usability.
- Apply technical skills in SQL, scripting, and integration platforms to assist in troubleshooting and system improvements.
- Collaborate with developers and QA teams to review design documents, testing strategies, and deployment plans.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, including order placement, execution, booking, and settlement.
- Solid knowledge of financial instruments, especially FX, Fixed Income, Equities, and Derivatives (including Equity Middle Office and settlement processes).
- Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
- Proficiency in Power BI for data visualisation.
- Experience with SQL (Oracle/MSSQL) and Python (preferred).
- Familiarity with .NET, scripting languages, and Crystal Reports.
- Exposure to back-office settlement systems such as SWIFT, Omega CTM, and SunG.
