Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptionally qualified and technically proficient Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to oversee the financial governance, risk management, and strategic capital planning of our international trading operations. This role is suited only for candidates with deep industry-specific experience, regulatory fluency, and a track record of board-level exposure within energy trading, multinational corporations, or state-owned enterprise environments.
The position reports directly to the CEO and involves regular interaction with board members, regulators, auditors, and Group HQ stakeholders in Indonesia.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Regulatory Financial Leadership
- Define and execute financial strategies aligned with our regulated international trading operations.
- Provide high-level financial advice to the CEO, Board, and shareholder representatives (including group-level SOE reporting).
- Lead the financial stewardship of a high-capital, cross-border trading entity operating under Singapore’s regulatory landscape.
- Ensure full compliance with ACRA, MAS, IRAS, and Group Pertamina requirements.
- Oversee all statutory reporting, audits (internal/external/state-owned), and tax filings with no margin for error.
- Serve as the principal liaison to auditors, regulatory agencies, and group-level finance controllers.
- Direct oversight of capital structuring, credit risk, liquidity, trade financing, and derivatives exposure.
- Engage with global financial institutions to manage treasury functions and optimize capital deployment.
- Proactively identify financial and operational risks across supply chains, trade flows, and FX environments.
- Lead finance teams across APAC while aligning commercial and operational objectives with financial KPIs.
- Critically evaluate bunker/cargo trading models, margins, hedging mechanisms, and profitability analytics.
- Translate financial insights into actionable decisions for the commercial, operations, and logistics teams.
- Professional Qualifications: Master’s degree in Economics. Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification.
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of finance experience, 10+ years in the energy/trading/logistics sector, including 5 years in a CFO or Group Controller role with regional or global oversight.
- Industry Track Record: Experience within a multinational commodity trading house, oil & gas major, or SOE-linked enterprise.
- Technical Fluency: Familiar with trade finance, bunker/cargo trading structures, intercompany settlement, IFRS/SFRS, and FX exposure management.
- Board & Audit Committee Exposure: Prior formal engagement with boards or commissioners, especially in regulated sectors.
- Prior experience interacting with Singapore regulators (MAS/ACRA/IRAS) in a regulated financial entity or trading company.
- Exposure to cross-border structuring and transfer pricing between HQ and subsidiaries.
- Experience implementing ERP systems and driving digital finance transformation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-cultural finance teams in high-stakes, high-volume environments.
