Product Safety, Assistant Manager or Manager - Bukit Batok

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Product Safety Manager to lead our product safety and regulatory compliance initiatives in the manufacturing of flavouring products. The ideal candidate will ensure that all products meet local and international safety standards, manage hazard communication, and support cross-functional teams in maintaining compliance throughout the product lifecycle, with a strong focus on GHS (Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process all requests related to GHS internally as well as externally from authorities and customers.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore GHS regulations in particular written hazard communication programme and support compliance to China's GHS related GB standards including Hazardous Substances Catalogue (2015).
• Responsible for the design of correct GHS labels in coordination with the IT department and implementation of labelling in accordance with requirements.
• Monitor regulatory changes in APAC including China and ensure timely updates to documentation and processes to local stakeholders and HQ Product Safety Group.
• Collaborate with various departments in R&D, Operations, Sales and Safety teams to ensure GHS safety compliance from development to distribution.
• Review suppliers’ SDS and related technical documents for compliance with regulatory and organisation requirements.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on chemical safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications/ Experiences:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Industry Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product safety, regulatory affairs, or chemical compliance, preferably in the flavouring manufacturing industry.
• In-depth knowledge of GHS, SDS and chemical labeling requirements.
• Knowledge in chemical, food additives, flavour legislation is at advantage.
• Familiarity with Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and international standards.
• Strong analytical, decision making, problem solving, communication, interpersonal communication, leadership and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with SAP.
• IATA DGR trained and certified
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Chinese is preferred.
