Java Developer

About the role
We are partnering with one of the government department looking for a motivated and technically strong Java Developer (Associate/Senior Associate) to the delivery team. The candidate will be actively involved in the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications across various client engagements and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-level Java applications and backend systems
- Enhance existing applications through feature improvements, bug fixing, and performance optimization
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services to support business and system requirements
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA/Testers, Solution Architects, and Project Managers to deliver quality solutions
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and post-implementation activities
- Ensure compliance with coding standards, security best practices, and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation while contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely and effective manner
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of Java development experience for Associate level, or 3–5 years of hands-on Java development experience for Senior Associate level
- Strong knowledge of Core Java and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles
- Experience or familiarity with Spring Boot and/or Spring Framework
- Understanding of RESTful API development and integration
- Familiarity with SQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Experience using Git or other version control tools
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
