We are looking for an experienced and committed HR Executive for one of our global shipping clients. The position will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day human resource (HR) functions that support the entire employee lifecycle, ensuring efficient operations across the HR department.
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in managing essential HR operations (such as payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS management) and provide assistance to the team in business partnering activities.

He/she should be highly meticulous and able to work independently and autonomously.

Primary Responsibilities:

HR Operations
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the entire employee lifecycle to ensure smooth operations across all HR functions.
  • Manage payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments, compliance with relevant local and international regulations, and proper handling of employee income tax submissions.
  • Administer employee welfare and benefits programs, which include, but are not limited to group employee insurance, HR-related expense claims, long service awards, health screenings, school fees, and absence management.
  • Maintain and optimise the HR system to ensure data accuracy and effective training for system users.
  • Assist with expatriate matters, including processing work visa applications and facilitating relocation arrangements.
  • Manage regulatory and governmental requirements, including but not limited to processing national service, maternity and childcare claims, and facilitating government survey submissions.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Support Business Partnering Activities
  • Assist in forecasting workforce needs and support the development of talent acquisition and succession planning strategies.
  • Provide assistance in the recruitment process by supporting candidate screening, interviewing, offer preparation, onboarding, maintaining personnel records, monitoring probation periods, and conducting confirmation follow-ups.
  • Manage offboarding processes, conduct exit interviews, advice on pro-rated benefits, confirmation of final day of service, and feedback collection to drive organisational improvement.
  • Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement, help with the performance appraisal process, and assist in professional development efforts.
  • Provide support to line managers in identifying training needs and skill gaps within their teams to help facilitate professional development initiatives and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Provide advice on HR policies, organisational changes, and conflict resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies while promoting a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Projects and Assignment
  • Support or lead additional projects, assignments, and other ad hoc duties as directed by the Assistant Manager (Human Resources).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in HR experience in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience working with a multicultural workforce is preferred.
  • Proficient in IT (Microsoft Office, HR systems, data analysis tools, etc.), with a working knowledge of payroll administration and strong understanding of statutory acts (Employment, Retirement/Provident Fund, Tax, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in all HR functions.
  • Systems & Collaboration: Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and prior experience with Workday HCM system preferred.
