About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Azure Architect with a strong background in application modernization and cloud migration. The role involves designing, leading, and implementing modernization of legacy applications onto Azure PaaS platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, ACI, and DevOps automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end application modernization and migration of legacy or IIS-hosted workloads to Azure PaaS.
Design and deploy scalable cloud architectures using Azure App Services, Functions, Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Container Instances (ACI).
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, and Data Platform teams to ensure adoption of best practices and compliance with Azure governance standards.
Conduct application performance assessments pre- and post-migration and implement optimization measures.
Design Azure Landing Zones and reference architectures aligned with enterprise cloud strategy.
Guide and mentor a team of developers and engineers; review technical deliverables.
Implement automation and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
Prepare and deliver technical solution presentations to internal and client stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Atleast 8 years of total IT experience including 3+ years on Azure Cloud platforms.
Hands-on experience in Azure App Services, Functions, AKS, ACI, and IIS-to-Azure migration.
Strong understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.
Experience in Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
Proven ability to lead teams (5+ members) and manage client-facing discussions.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification preferred.

Nice to Have

Experience with FinOps or cost optimization on Azure.
Exposure to multi-cloud (AWS/GCP) environments.
Familiarity with application performance tuning and monitoring tools (App Insights, Dynatrace, etc.).
