About the Role
We are seeking a Middle Office Manager to be based in Singapore, supporting the Group’s trading, shipping, and treasury functions across Mewah’s global edible oil operations. This role acts as a central coordination and control function across the trade lifecycle—ensuring that trades are accurately captured, exposures are visible, and shipments are executed in line with contractual, operational, and risk requirements.You will work closely with Trading, Shipping, and Finance Teams to strengthen visibility, governance, and execution discipline across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Trade Lifecycle Oversight: Ensure alignment between sales & purchase confirmation and shipping execution; resolve discrepancies across commercial, operational, and financial data.
- Shipment & Logistics Coordination: Coordinate among Commercial, Shipping, Logistics, and Risk Teams; oversee shipment execution across bulk and containerized operations in compliance with Incoterms and documentation.
- Digital Transformation: Identify process gaps; support implementation of systems, dashboards, and reporting tools; drive standardization and integration of analytic/compliance platforms.
- Data Integrity & Reporting: Maintain accurate trade and shipment data; ensure reconciliation between Trading, Shipping, and Finance records.
- Exception & Claims Tracking: Track delays, vessel shortages, and documentation issues; support identification and follow-up of demurrage and claims for audit purposes.
- Strong attention to detail
- Curious, proactive and creative attitude.
- Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle (contract → shipment → settlement).
- Knowledge of Incoterms and shipping documentation (BL, LC, invoices).
- Clear communicator able to bridge Trading, Operations, and Finance teams.
- 3 – 10 years of experience in commodity trading, shipping, or middle office roles.
- Prior exposure to agri-commodities, edible oils & fats, or bulk trading is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in trade execution, shipping coordination, or exposure monitoring.
- Relevant degree in Business, Engineering, Maritime Studies, or Finance preferred (based on industry standards for this level of role).
- Process optimization and change management skills.
- Data analytics and dashboarding capabilities.
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Problem-solving skills focused on connecting commercial intent with operational execution.
