Assistant Mechanical Engineer (West, Chemical)

Our client is a well-established multinational manufacturer within the chemical and pharmaceutical ingredients industry in Singapore. They are currently seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support and lead the following responsibilities:
- Lead preventive maintenance (PM) strategies for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with ISO, GMP, FSSC, HACCP, and QHSE standards while driving continuous reliability improvements.
- Manage emergency and unscheduled equipment repairs, coordinating internal and external resources to minimize downtime and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Spearhead maintenance improvement projects, overseeing project execution, resource allocation, and achievement of performance targets.
- Analyze equipment reliability data to optimize maintenance processes and enhance asset performance.
- Plan and coordinate plant shutdown maintenance activities, including vendor management, scheduling, and team leadership to ensure smooth and timely execution.
Requirements:
- NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- At least 3 years relevant maintenance experience in a process plant or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting machinery and equipment
- Exposure to a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as SAP, would be an added advantage
- Willingness to support emergency maintenance work when required
