Job Overview

My client is a well-established MNC and they are looking to hire a Partnership Director for their AI and Innovation team. The Partnership Director, AI and Innovation will lead the development and management of strategic partnerships with both the private and public sector agencies to advance the organization’s AI and innovation initiatives.

This role focuses on fostering collaborations that drive the adoption, development, and deployment of AI technologies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in AI ecosystems, stakeholder engagement, and navigating complex public-private partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Partnership Development
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure high-impact partnerships with private companies and public agencies to advance AI and innovation projects.
  • Develop partnership strategies that align with the organization’s mission to drive AI adoption, ethical use, and innovation.
  • Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements, ensuring mutual value and clear objectives.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives, government officials, policymakers, and innovation leaders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for partners, ensuring consistent communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and policy forums to promote AI initiatives and secure new opportunities.
  1. AI and Innovation Advocacy
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., R&D, product, policy) to align partnership activities with cutting-edge AI advancements.
  • Advocate for responsible AI practices, including ethical standards, inclusivity, and transparency, in all partnerships.
  • Support public sector agencies in understanding and integrating AI solutions to address challenges.
  1. Project and Program Management
  • Oversee the execution of joint initiatives, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and KPIs are met.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on partnership objectives, including pilot programs, research collaborations, and technology deployments.
  • Monitor and report on partnership performance, providing insights to leadership and stakeholders.
  1. Market and Policy Insights
  • Stay informed on AI trends, regulatory frameworks, and funding opportunities in private and public sectors.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to leadership on emerging opportunities and risks in the AI ecosystem.
  • Support grant applications, public funding proposals, and policy advocacy to strengthen partnerships.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelors, Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering AI, Machine Learning, Quantum Computing or a related discipline preferred.

Experience
  • 15+ years in the Technology Ecosystem space with experiences in partnership development, business development, or strategic alliances, with strong focus on AI, Machine Learning, Big Data, and/or Quantum.
  • Proven track record of building and managing partnerships with private companies and public agencies.
  • Experience navigating government contracts, regulatory environments, or public sector innovation programs is a plus.
Skills
  • Deep understanding of AI technologies, their applications, and ethical considerations.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to align partnerships with long-term organizational goals.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Familiarity with public policy, regulatory frameworks, and funding mechanisms related to AI and innovation.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work across diverse sectors and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Established network within AI, tech, or public sector ecosystems.
  • Experience with public-private partnership (PPP) models or innovation hubs.
  • Knowledge of global AI policies, standards, or frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI Risk Management Framework).
