Application Support Engineer (Mobile) (Government Project)

Job Responsibilities

Incident Management
  • Provide onsite response to user-reported issues.
  • Perform triage and troubleshooting of issues related to:
  1. Mobile application usage
  2. Messaging Alert mobile app (sending/receiving messages)
  3. VPN disconnections (signal loss, reconnection, etc.)
  4. Device enrolment issues
  • Create, manage, and track incident tickets to ensure timely resolution.
  • Escalate to and work with third-party vendors (Cisco, Zimperium, Omnissa, Messaging vendor) as needed.
  • Work closely with back-end engineering teams to resolve infrastructure-related incidents.
Mobile Application Software Release Testing
  • Download and export mobile applications (APK files) from Google Play Store/Samsung Galaxy Store
  • Support internal deployment of mobile applications, including APK distribution.
  • Coordinate and manage phased app rollouts (pilot testing and full deployment).
  • Conduct:
  1. Compatibility testing on customer-provided mobile devices
  2. Functional and user acceptance testing based on established checklists
  • Simulate and verify fixes for previously reported issues.
  • Report bugs and coordinate with relevant vendors for remediation.
Device Software Support
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Android OS and Samsung native applications.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot SD card-related problems, especially those involving user certificates.
  • Liaise with messaging vendors to address and resolve certificate-related issues.
Device Enrolment Support
  • Provide assistance during large-scale device enrolment exercises.
  • Identify and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and network connectivity issues.
  • Collaborate with back-end engineering teams to address system-level enrolment challenges.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Android OS and enterprise mobile app environments.
  • Experience working with VPN, mobile threat defence, and enterprise mobility tools (e.g., Workspace ONE).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Please note that this role will be required to clear CAT 1 due to security reasons.
