Outdoor Education Programme Coordinator
Job Summary
The Outdoor Education Programme Coordinator is a central member of the Outdoor Education Department. They play a key role in the planning, scheduling, and logistical coordination of outdoor education across the School. Their work supports the successful delivery of programmes through forward planning, efficient resource management, and working closely with faculty staff, the wider co-curricular team, and external partners.
The role carries responsibility for the oversight of coach management, including scheduling, onboarding, compliance tracking, and performance support. It also covers logistical planning for activities and events, equipment procurement, and shared space management.In addition, the Outdoor Education Programme Coordinator provides key administrative and tracking support for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, ensuring smooth communication between participants, leaders, and school systems.
The role reports to the Head of Outdoor Education.
Job Requirements- Minimum diploma holder or equivalent
- Previous experience of working in a school or educational environment
- Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and risk assessment processes
- Background in outdoor education, student program coordination, or the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is highly desirable
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word); familiarity with iSAMS and award platforms like DofE is an advantage
- Experience managing timetables, rotas, or project schedules
- Ability to handle complex data accurately, securely, and efficiently
- Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Experience working with or coordinating school-based programmes or student-facing systems is desirable
- Pleasant disposition with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- High attention to detail, particularly when working with student data, schedules, and compliance information
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as a good team player with a positive attitude
- Proactive, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to go the extra mile and take initiative in identifying and solving problems
