Job Summary】
Inabata Singapore Pte Ltd ("IKS") is a Japanese trading company specialising in plastics, chemicals, packaging materials and industrial machines. IKS is a subsidiary of Inabata & Co., Ltd, a public listed company in Japan specialising in trading chemicals, plastics, electronics and life industry products having presence in around 70 locations in 19 countries.
The Legal Specialist will assist the Senior Legal Counsel in providing legal support to IKS and its affiliates in the Asia region by advising on a range of legal and compliance matters including risk management, ISO and ISCC related matters, corporate governance matters, contracts review and contracts management.
【Key Responsibilities】- Manage contracts depository
- Draft and/or review contracts, legal documents and correspondences
- Support in the negotiation of contracts and transactions
- Provide advice to stakeholders on risks and legal issues
- Monitoring and identifying legal issues as and when they arise and recommend course of action
- Support in dispute resolution and legal proceedings as and when they arise
- Provide training to stakeholders
- Support in the implementation of Personal Data Protection Act or equivalent in affiliates within the Asia region
- Coordinate and collaborate with external legal advisers and internal departments when the need arises
- Support in legal research
- Support ISO and ISCC related matters
- Support in compliance related matters and corporate governance matters
- Attend to any other ad-hoc administrative, legal and compliance matters
- Min 2 years of experience in corporate legal
- Bachelor's degree in law (LLB) / Diploma holder in legal studies or law and management (or equivalent)
- Attention to detail and meticulous
- Strong sense of responsibility and initiative
- Good understanding in Company Law, Contract Law and data privacy law
- Ability to conduct legal research
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good drafting and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluent in English to review contracts and communicate with clients in Asia region
- However as some contracts are in Chinese depending on the clients' countries, therefore knowledge in Chinese language is plus
