Assistant Warehouse Manager - Choa Chu Kang

About the role

We are seeking Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our dynamic team. This full-time role is based in the Joo Koon (West) Region. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will support the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring the timely and accurate receipt, storage, and dispatch of marine goods, equipment, and supplies.

This role requires a good understanding of inventory management, safety protocols, and logistics in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:

• Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing marine equipment, spare parts, and supplies.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Implement stock control systems to reduce waste and optimize space.

1. Warehouse Operations:

• Oversee daily warehouse activities, including loading, unloading, and packaging of goods.
• Ensure the safe and efficient use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to optimize storage layouts for maximum efficiency.

1. Logistics Coordination:

• Support the coordination of shipments and deliveries to marine vessels and clients.
• Work closely with logistics teams to ensure timely dispatch and accurate documentation.

1. Safety and Compliance:

• Enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols, including hazardous material handling.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Ensure all staff adhere to company policies and regulatory standards.

1. Team Leadership:

• Supervise and train warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
• Assist in performance evaluations and recommend training as needed.
• Act as the primary point of contact in the Warehouse Manager's absence.

1. Reporting and Communication:

• Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance and inventory status.
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

1. Skills:

• Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in the marine industry.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery (certification preferred).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

1. Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
