Assembly Technician

About the role

As an Assembly Technician, you will play a key part in ensuring our production lines run efficiently and that all products meet our rigorous quality requirements. This position offers the opportunity to develop valuable technical skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

1. Assemble components and sub-assemblies according to technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
2. Operate and maintain assembly equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner
3. Perform quality inspections on assembled products to ensure they meet required standards and specifications
4. Identify and report defects or irregularities to supervisory staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
5. Follow all health and safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work station
6. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines
7. Keep accurate records of production activities and maintain detailed documentation as required
8. Participate in training programmes to develop technical knowledge and skills

1. Proven experience in assembly work, manufacturing, or a related production environment
2. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to precise specifications and quality standards
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
4. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery safely and effectively
5. Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills to perform intricate assembly tasks
6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
7. Reliability and a strong commitment to meeting production deadlines
8. Basic numeracy and literacy skills
9. Relevant vocational qualifications or certifications in manufacturing, assembly, or related fields are advantageous
10. Experience with quality control and inspection processes would be beneficial
