Marine Electrical & Electronics Repair Technician

apartmentFIRST KONNECTION PTE. LTD. placePasir Ris scheduleFull-time calendar_month

This is a hands-on marine repair technician role focused mainly on electrical and electronics work.

You will be doing fault-finding, repair, troubleshooting, servicing, and installation work on electrical and electronic systems on boats, yachts, and vessels.

This role is for someone who has already done real hands-on repair and troubleshooting work. We are not looking for drafting, documentation, coordination, support-only, or trainee profiles.

Most of the work is on-site, not in an air-con office. You need to be okay going to marinas, boats, yachts, vessels, and customer sites to get the job done.

Some jobs are under the sun. Some jobs are hot, greasy, oily, and done in tighter spaces depending on the vessel and the work area. If you are looking for clean indoor air-con work, this role is not for you.

Most of the work is electrical and electronics. There is also some mechanical work involved. If you are stronger in electrical and electronics work and less familiar with the mechanical side, training can be provided for that part of the role.

Working hours are generally Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. Overtime is paid when required, but this is not a frequent overtime role. Most work is expected to be completed within normal working hours.

In the current market, more customers may choose to repair existing equipment instead of buying new equipment. Because of that, we are looking for a technician who can support repair, troubleshooting, and service work on the ground.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Carry out repair, troubleshooting, servicing, and installation work on electrical and electronic systems on boats, yachts, and vessels
  • Test equipment, trace faults, and carry out rectification work
  • Replace faulty parts and restore equipment to working condition
  • Support setup or commissioning work when needed
  • Support some mechanical work as part of the job
  • Go on-site for service, repair, and installation jobs
  • Work in marinas, on boats, on yachts, on vessels, in workshops, and at other service locations depending on the job
  • Handle work in hot, outdoor, greasy, oily, or tighter-space conditions when required
  • Write simple service notes or job updates after work is done
  • Take care of tools, parts, and work area properly
  • Work with the team to complete jobs safely and on time
What We Are Looking For
  • At least 1 year of real hands-on electrical or electronics repair and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience must involve working directly on equipment, not only planning, documenting, assisting, or observing
  • Marine experience will be an advantage, but candidates from other hands-on repair or field-service backgrounds may be considered if their troubleshooting base is strong
  • Able to use tools and handle practical technical work properly
  • Able to trace faults and carry out repair work on existing equipment
  • Comfortable going on-site when needed
  • Comfortable working in marine, vessel, industrial, workshop, or field-service environment
  • Comfortable working under the sun, in heat, and in non-office conditions when the job requires it
  • Physically able to handle hands-on site work, including tighter work areas when needed
  • Willing to learn and open to guidance
  • Humble, steady, and able to work well with the team
  • Able to take direction and handle feedback in a professional way
  • Able to stay calm and work through busy or challenging situations
  • Responsible, practical, and willing to get the job done properly
  • For some service jobs, the technician may need to explain technical issues and coordinate work with Mandarin-speaking customers or crew during on-site work
This Role Is Not Suitable For
  • Drafting or documentation-focused profiles
  • Coordination or support-only profiles
  • Trainees or candidates with only light exposure
  • Candidates without real hands-on repair and fault-finding experience
  • Candidates looking mainly for clean indoor work or frequent overtime
What You Get
  • Full-time role
  • 5-day work week
  • Monthly salary of SGD 2,800 to SGD 3,500
  • Overtime pay when required
  • 13th month bonus, subject to company performance
  • Training on the mechanical side can be provided for the right candidate
