Changi Airport | Technician / Technical Officer / Assistant Engineer

Location: Changi Airport (Deployment across terminals by supervisor)

Job Description:

We are hiring Technicians and Technical Officers to support equipment maintenance and operations across various departments. Based on your deployment, your responsibilities will include the following:

1. Technician

• Maintain and repair material handling equipment, forklifts, tractors, and other systems within cargo terminals
• Perform troubleshooting and basic repairs to ensure operational continuity
• Work closely with vendors to minimize equipment downtime in warehouse environments
• Operate in challenging environments such as cold rooms, high humidity areas, and at heights
• Must be comfortable operating forklifts

1. Assistant Engineer/Engineer Technician

• Plan and schedule workshop maintenance for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and vehicles
• Supervise in-house technicians or external contractors to ensure timely and effective maintenance
• Manage shift rosters and ensure adherence to maintenance timelines
• Class 3 driving license required

1. Technician/Technical Officer

• Maintain and troubleshoot systems and equipment at catering facilities
• Handle equipment used in warehouse, automation, refrigeration, kitchen, packaging, washing, and waste management operations
• Oversee and execute preventive maintenance and manage technical purchases
• Collaborate with internal teams to reduce downtime and uphold food safety and hygiene standards
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and maintain a clean, safe workspace

Requirements:

• Minimum Nitec in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office
• Physically fit and able to work in varying conditions (e.g. wet, cold, high places)
• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and perform OT when necessary

Salary & Benefits:

• Basic Salary:
• Technician: $1,800 – $2,500
• Engineer Technician: $2,000 - $2,500
• Assistant Engineer: $2,600 - $3,000
• Technical Officer: $2,800 – $3,200
• Allowances & Bonuses:
• Shift Allowance: Avg. $250/month
• Uniform Allowance: $50 – $100/month
• AWS (13th Month Bonus)
• Performance Bonus: Up to 2 months
• Sign-On Bonus: $5,000 (first year)
• Transport provided if no public transport is available after shifts

Working Hours:

• 6 days/week (including weekends)
• Rotating 8-hour shifts (24/7 operations)
• Overtime required based on operational needs
