Deputy Manager, Operational Risk

Job Responsibility

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Risk and Compliance, the candidate will be responsible to oversee operational and recommend relevant risk management strategies and providing support and advice to business functions in accordance with the Company’s risk management framework.

• Establish and maintain the Operational Risk Management, Outsourcing, and Business Continuity Management framework
• Acts as the 2nd Line of Defense
• Responsible for the effective handling of Operational and IT Incidents in accordance with established requirements
• Responsible for the company-wide Risk Control Self-Assessment
• Ensure effective review of risk controls and advisory on the adequacy of remediation activities
• Conduct periodic due diligence checks and monitoring on outsourced service providers
• Liaise with relevant functions to update the department Business Impact Assessments and organize the annual Business Continuity Readiness exercise
• Responsible for the effective establishment of Operational risk metrics, reporting on Operational risk monitoring and remediation for Board and Management
• Responsible for the quarterly risk assessments by liaising with departments
• Support on any regulatory inspection, external and internal audits on Operational Risk topics

• Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or other related discipline
• At least 5 years of operational risk, and compliance experience in the insurance industry
• Good working knowledge of Risk Management framework, best practices and operational risk regulatory framework
• Certification in Operational Risk Management, and/or CIA or equivalent will be advantageous
• Good working knowledge of MAS, and other local regulations applicable to insurance companies
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Proactive and positive attitude
• Have good organization skill and have a keen eye on details
• Able to embrace work challenge and work under pressure
• Good command of written and verbal English and Chinese (to be able to communicate effectively with English and Chinese speaking associates regarding assigned tasks)
