Key Responsibilities- Tender, Quotation & Commercial Preparation
- Manage tender preparation for engineering, construction, maintenance, and related service packages.
- Review invite-to-tender documents, specifications, drawings, scope of work, terms, and submission requirements.
- Prepare tender clarifications, technical queries, commercial proposals, and quotation documents.
- Coordinate with internal departments to obtain costing, manpower plans, equipment requirements, schedules, and technical inputs.
- Ensure tender submissions are accurate, competitive, complete, and submitted on time.
- Follow up with customers after submission and support tender negotiations or clarification meetings.
- Business Development & Customer Management
- Identify and develop new business leads from existing and new industries.
- Contact, arrange meetings, and build relationships with potential customers.
- Maintain good business relationships with existing customers and follow up on future opportunities.
- Understand customer requirements and propose suitable engineering, construction, or maintenance solutions.
- Support senior management in customer engagement, business presentations, and commercial discussions.
- New Market & Business Expansion
- Explore opportunities beyond the company’s current business areas, including semiconductor, data center, power, infrastructure, and other growth sectors.
- Study possible new scopes, tender packages, and service opportunities that the company can participate in.
- Identify gaps in internal capability and propose ways to bridge them through internal resource planning, collaboration, subcontracting, or external partnerships.
- Work with internal teams and external parties to develop new service offerings or business models.
- Support strategic planning for business expansion and diversification.
- Internal Coordination & Execution Support
- Align internal resources such as manpower, engineering capability, project teams, procurement, subcontractors, and management support.
- Coordinate with operations teams to assess project feasibility, risks, schedule, costing, and execution requirements.
- Support handover from tender stage to project execution stage when jobs are awarded.
- Monitor business opportunities and update senior management on progress, risks, and required decisions.
- Sales Target & Performance Management
- Work towards achieving new sales, new customers, and new business opportunities.
- Track leads, tender status, quotation submissions, customer follow-ups, and award outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on business development activities and tender pipeline.
- Support company growth targets through proactive lead generation and commercial follow-up.
Requirements:
Experience- Relevant experience in engineering, construction, maintenance, industrial services, or related sectors.
- Experience in tender preparation, quotation making, commercial proposal preparation, or project costing.
- Experience dealing with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, or project stakeholders.
- Prior exposure to plant maintenance, construction projects, industrial facilities, semiconductor, data center, power, or infrastructure sectors will be an advantage.
- Strong ability to read and understand tender documents, scope of work, and commercial requirements.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to prepare clear quotations, proposals, clarification replies, and management updates.
- Good business sense with ability to identify customer needs and commercial opportunities.
- Able to coordinate across internal departments and external partners.
- Independent, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Strong follow-up discipline and ownership of assigned tasks.
- Able to work directly with senior management and support strategic business decisions.
- Must be at least 3 years of relevant experience to qualify for Executive level.
- Candidate holding over 6 years of relevant experience may qualify for placement at the Manager position.
- Experiences in engineering, construction, maintenance, or industrial services. (Do not apply if you lack relevant industry experience)
- Must be stable employment history; no frequent job changes.
- Self-starter with strong drive to find new opportunities and close follow-up actions.
- Commercially aware and willing to learn new industries or technical scopes.
- Comfortable meeting customers and representing the company professionally.
- Able to balance tender preparation, customer engagement, and internal coordination.
- Practical, resourceful, and able to work with limited guidance.
- Interested in business growth, market expansion, and long-term company development.
Summary
This person is commercially driven, technically aware, and capable of supporting the company’s growth from tender stage to customer development and new business expansion. The role requires initiative, ownership, and the ability to work closely with senior management in a fast-moving engineering business environment.
