About the role
Railway infrastructure such as tracks, tunnels and viaducts are inspected and monitored routinely to ensure safe use. Increasingly, the use of inspection technologies such as photo imaging systems, laser and ultrasonic scan systems are used alongside more traditional track visual inspections methods to determine the condition of the infrastructure.Railway buildings and facilities are also equipped with smart environmental control, pump monitoring, and lift control systems. These building conditioning monitoring systems could be OEM proprietary systems or 3rd party solutions. The job of the Technical Officer is to operate the condition monitoring system to acquire data and/or retrieve the data from the condition monitoring systems for processing.
Key responsibilities- Understand how to operate the condition monitoring system and retrieve the acquired data for processing
- Basic Understanding of how to interpret acquired data and its alert thresholds
- Ensure work is done in accordance to Work Instructions and in compliance to SMRT safety policies
- Vocational qualification in the Mechanical / Mechatronic / Electrical Engineering field or equivalent
- Mechanical or Electrical vocational background
- Prior knowledge of railway track and/or civil structure will be beneficial
- Clear communication
