Technical Operations Manager in Marine industry - Toa Payoh
We are looking for an Operations Manager for our marine service company based in Singapore.
On Site Alignment is a marine service provider, specialized in the installation, alignment and troubleshooting of all rotating equipment onboard ships, for example main engines, generators and gearboxes. We do stern tube bearing repairs, exchange bearings and couplings but also install machinery with shims or chockfast.Besides this, we do vibration measurements and analysis and dimensional surveys. Our engineers are highly skilled and believe in ‘making things happen’.
We are a company with 45 employees worldwide. With offices in The Netherlands, Singapore, China, UAE, and the USA. On Site Alignment is working towards a global presence to service our customers wherever and whenever needed.
We are looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Operations Manager with a flexible 24/7 mentality and passion for the maritime industry. You are the linking pin between the customer and engineers, overseeing day to day technical and operational processes to ensure seamless service delivery, taken into account budget, compliance and QSHE.
As an Operations Manager, you- Oversee the whole process of service jobs from customer request to service report and invoice.
- Your focus is on customer satisfaction, team development and continuous improvement of our services. You will lead a team of highly skilled marine service engineers who are responsible for the day-to-day execution of our services.
- Are a technical sparring partner for our engineers, while
- Motivating and coaching the service team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to encourage long term business growth.
- Have excellent understanding of the local requirement, both from a legal and business perspective.
- Ensure compliance with marine industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with the worldwide OSA offices where necessary.
- Report to the Operational Director.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture.
- Knowledge and experience with propulsion and rotating equipment is required.
- Have a minimum of 7 years’ experience, including proven managerial experience.
- Have strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Are a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills who likes to be in the centre of the operations.
- Have a well-developed intercultural awareness, with the ability to build relationships in multicultural teams.
- Are result-oriented, decisive, have eye for detail while taking ownership of your work and development.
- Are expected to support weekend and or after office hours operations.
