The Assistant Manager/Manager for the Strategic Partnerships & Engagement (Schools) is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational initiatives aimed at promoting cardiovascular health among the school community through healthy eating, active living and positive mental wellness.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that the programmes are effective, sustainable, and aligned with the strategic goals of the organization. The Assistant Manager/Manager will manage a team of staff and work closely with schools and external partners to advocate for the prevention of heart diseases from a young age.
Responsibilities:
Programme Management- Lead the successful implementation of the Schools Programme, ensuring that all programmes/events meet organizational standards and objectives.
- Monitor the progress of the school programmes ensuring that timelines and quality standards are met.
- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of the programme, implementing improvements as needed.
- Conduct heart health programmes/ talks/ events to the school/community.
- Prepare and present reports for internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Ensure that the programme is adequately resourced with budget forecasting and management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools, internal and external stakeholders, to identify new programme opportunity.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Provide leadership, supervision and support to the team members.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, feedback sessions for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment to ensure high levels of performance and morale.
- Provide coverage for team members whenever necessary. (e.g., conduct heart health programmes for schools).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business/ health sciences/ education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role with proven experience in managing teams, including performance management, training, and development.
- Experience in managing programmes, including programme development, budgeting, marketing, implementation and review. Ability to assess programme effectiveness and use data to inform decision-making and improvements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to address complex issues and find innovative solutions.
- Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management tools.
- Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic environment.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Willing to travel island-wide to schools early to conduct programmes/activities.
