Editor (Mathematics & Science)

About the role

Star Publishing Pte Ltd is seeking a Mathematics & Science Editor to join our editorial team. We welcome both entry-level and experienced candidates who possess a strong academic background in mathematics and/or science, and an interest in educational publishing.

This role involves supporting the development of high-quality mathematics and science instructional materials, including textbooks, workbooks, teacher resources and digital learning materials, under the guidance of senior editors.

• Edit and review mathematics and science manuscripts, worksheets and instructional content for clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Verify mathematical and scientific content for correctness, curriculum alignment and age appropriateness.
• Provide constructive editorial feedback to authors and contributors, with guidance from senior editors where required.
• Coordinate with authors, consultants, general editors, designers, illustrators and internal teams to ensure projects are completed accordingly.
• Apply house style and editorial guidelines consistently across all publications.
• Assist with quality control at manuscript, layout and proof stages.
• Conduct fact-checking, proofreading and cross-referencing of content and artwork.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Education, or a related discipline.
• Entry-level candidates are welcome. Prior experience in publishing, editing, teaching or curriculum development would be an advantage.
• Strong command of written English with excellent editing and proofreading skills.
• Careful, analytical and detail-oriented, particularly when working with technical content.
• Able to learn quickly and work effectively under editorial guidance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with Adobe InDesign or other publishing software would be advantageous.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
