Student Pastoral Care Officer (School Environment)

The Role
  • Oversee and support students assigned to in-house suspension, guiding their behaviour and development during the programme.
  • Facilitate and monitor students undergoing reintegration programmes to ensure smooth transition back into classroom settings.
  • Supervise students temporarily removed from class, using restorative approaches to guide behavioural improvements.
  • Conduct routine patrols around school premises (e.g. classrooms, canteen areas) to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Carry out periodic checks on students’ grooming and attire to ensure compliance with school standards.
  • Support the Discipline Team during school events and activities (e.g. sports events, school ceremonies) to maintain order and safety.
  • Provide additional classroom or operational support for high-needs student groups when required.
  • Assist with general student discipline and management matters as assigned by school leadership.
What Are We Looking For?
  • Prior experience working in a secondary school environment or in a similar youth-facing role (2–5 years preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in managing student discipline and handling behavioural cases effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers and staff on student-related matters.
  • Background in uniformed services (e.g. police, military, correctional services) will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated passion for supporting and mentoring at-risk youth, with a positive and patient approach.
  • Strong situational judgement and ability to manage challenging student behaviors calmly.
