Job Summary:
Ensure Hotel guests have a comfortable environment and enjoyable stay, with total guests’ satisfaction, at Aloft Singapore Novena, and responsible for a smooth functionality of guestrooms, F&B outlets, and other hotel facilities of both properties, by instilling a culture of preventive maintenance in his team and efficient management and maintenance of the properties’ facilities and equipment such as the air-conditioning system, fire protection system, hot and cold water distribution and electrical installation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the general maintenance and repair of the building facilities, Mechanical and Electrical equipment (M&E), Audio Visual equipment (AV), and plant rooms, for both in-house and out-sourced work as per Hotel’s P&P.
- Conduct feasibility studies for upgrading and/or retrofitting of works and undertake retrofitting and new development projects.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of the FF&E/ HOE and property engineering tools, equipment, machinery, and spares, and also to ensure all documents, records, M&E, architectural, structural drawings are properly kept.
- Conduct regular waste and energy audits as part of an effective energy conservation program, and assist in Green Committee for initiatives implementation, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
- Prepare for application for all necessary government licenses, certificates and/or approvals including statutory engineering certificates in respect of retrofitting, lifts, fire certificate, air conditioning and mechanical ventilation, electrical installations, pool and water features, potable water tanks, façade logo and signages, etc.
- Assist Director of Engineering and HR and Training Manager to develop Engineering training modules for all systems and equipment training requirements, and implementation.
- Responsible for efficient management of Engineering Department, and Fire & Life Safety and Crisis Management in conjunction with Director of Security, in the absence of the Director of Engineering.
- Perform supervisory or executive functions such as assisting in work related to the strategies / policies of the department.
- Cover and stand in for Technical Manager's duties as and when required.
