Cyber Security Operations Engineer – 1 + 1 Year Contract

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm

About the Role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Operations Engineer to support enterprise security operations within a large-scale utility environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring security platforms, ensuring system resilience, and supporting the implementation and integration of cybersecurity solutions across the organisation.

• Manage and support network security infrastructure, including intrusion prevention systems (IPS) and VPN solutions.
• Administer web security tools such as URL filtering and web application firewalls (WAF).
• Oversee endpoint security solutions including anti-malware, device control, application control, and data loss prevention (DLP).
• Manage messaging security systems including anti-spam, anti-malware, and content filtering.
• Support security operations and vulnerability management using tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint monitoring systems.
• Perform security monitoring, incident investigation, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Support integration and implementation of cybersecurity platforms across enterprise systems.
• Assist in automation of security operational tasks to improve efficiency and response time.
• Ensure compliance with internal security policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support secure system design and change management processes.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise cybersecurity operations or security engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience managing enterprise security solutions.
• Experience in implementing or integrating cybersecurity platforms in a large enterprise environment.
• Good understanding of security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, encryption, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, patch management, logging, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience with application and network security principles.
• Scripting or automation experience (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash) will be an advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM will be an advantage.
