Bedok - Principal Engineer / Manager, Facilities Management (Electrical Engineering)
You will support and advise the HOD in the overall operational management, leadership and oversight for the performance and outcome of the department as well as SingHealth Shared Services and Facilities & Infrastructure Development.
This involves preparation of both long and short-term strategic vision and meticulous planning to ensure not only the continuous and uninterrupted operations of buildings, plant, and equipment and all infrastructural assets and facilities but also ensure the timely replacement of equipment and fixtures.
You will be an active participant in the department’s role as the consultants, project manager and executor to minor renovation, upgrading projects and other facility management matters.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs to maintain buildings, equipment, and grounds inclusive of appropriate preventative maintenance schedules and procedures
- Direct programs to operate facilities and systems in a safe and efficient manner
- Carries out budgeting and scheduling of major capital projects related to the hospital
- Provides technical assistance to Facilities colleagues and staff in defining and evaluating engineering requirement
- Co-ordinate minor renovation projects with contractors, engineers, and appropriate authorities
- Provide support for all inspections and acceptance activities relating to minor renovation, upgrading and remodelling works
- Represent the hospital for all inspections and acceptance activities projects relating to new construction, expansion or modification of facilities and equipment
- Ensure proposal of any facilities related works and design complies with Design and Safety requirements and Sustainability requirement (Green.Gov)
- Co-ordinates and implement hospital’s various Quality Management Systems such as QMS, BCM, OSHAS, BizSafe, JCI, etc
- Work under broad guidelines and direction in accordance with professional standards and established policies
- Implement Quality Assurance and inspection procedures to monitor work quality and equipment performance
- Liaise and conduct meetings, and render advice to various bodies such as Singapore Land Authority, Land Transport Authority, MOH, NEA, BCA, FSSB and etc
- Render “round-the-clock” fault reporting and helpdesk services
- Plan and implement “good-practice” procedures to achieve energy efficiency and assist in introducing innovations/ technologies in FM Digitalisation and Transformation
- Any other duties assigned from time to time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any other relevant discipline
- Good knowledge of regulatory standards and relevant Code of Practices
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
- Project management and software drafting skills, e.g. AutoCAD, BIM
- Experience in Contract drafting, evaluation and administration
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
