PHILANTHROPY MANAGER (LEAD SOCIAL WORKER)
The Philanthropy Manager will lead a new private initiative focused on Direct Financial Intervention rather than traditional grant-making. The role involves identifying individuals and families in financial crisis, verifying their circumstances, and delivering direct aid solutions.Reporting directly to the Principal, the manager will design a scalable charitable framework for Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region.
Job Description- Strategic Framework & Mandate Development
- Create the “Giving Mandate” with eligibility criteria and evaluation protocols.
- Develop a structured direct aid model ensuring long-term stability.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore’s Charities Act and regional regulations.
- Casework, verification and assessment
- Conduct needs assessments via interviews and site visits.
- Perform financial forensics to verify genuine hardship.
- Maintain safeguards against misuse of funds.
- Direct Financial Intervention
- Execute aid delivery, including negotiations and payments to creditors, healthcare providers, and service vendors.
- Track beneficiaries’ progress to refine strategies.
- Regional Operations & Scoping
- Identify grassroots organizations and direct cases in Southeast Asia for collaboration.
- Organize field trips for the Principal to assess regional challenges.
- Degree or Master’s in Social Work (BSW/MSW).
- Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Singapore.
- 8–12 years of frontline social work experience (FSCs or NGOs).
- Experience in navigating Southeast Asian social landscapes.
- High integrity and discretion in a family office environment.
- Possess empathy balanced with logical problem-solving.
- Possess strong communication skills and deliver concise with evidence-based briefings
- Able to build processes independently.
