The Role:

This role supports the Chief Underwriting Officer by combining pricing expertise with data analytics to drive underwriting performance and strategic decision-making. The analyst will collaborate across underwriting, actuarial, finance, and business teams to enhance pricing tools, data quality, and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Pricing

Conduct pricing reviews for new and renewal business, portfolios, and schemes.
Monitor pricing trends and report insights to local and global stakeholders.
Develop and maintain pricing tools, ensuring usability and alignment with business needs.
Support underwriters in applying pricing models and interpreting results.
Liaise with actuaries to ensure consistency in assumptions and peer review processes.
Analyse market data to identify pricing opportunities and risks.

Data Analytics

Partner with Data Coordinators across lines of business to build a robust data framework.
Ensure data accuracy, relevance, and usability for underwriting, finance, and regulatory needs.
Produce regular and ad hoc reports using Power BI, Excel, and SQL.
Perform portfolio segmentation, trend analysis, and reconciliations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data workflows and reduce manual effort.
Present actionable insights to leadership to support strategic decisions.

What we’re looking for

Essential:

Bachelor of Actuarial Studies
Tertiary data science qualification
Insurance Industry qualifications
1-2 years Insurance Industry experience
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Power BI, Excel, and SQ
Experience in insurance, finance, or related fields
Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
High attention to detail and data integrity
Collaborative mindset with experience working across functions
