What you will be part of:
The Saab Singapore was setup for over 40 years. In Singapore, we deliver solutions to the local customers ranging from civil aviation, naval and land-based products and services. The Saab Singapore office consists an enthusiastic team of sales managers, project managers and systems engineers.This role is based in Saab’s Singapore office, working closely with the Air Traffic Management teams from Netherlands, US and Sweden.
Your role:
As a Systems Engineer, you will become part of a dedicated and experienced engineering team, responsible for implementing our air traffic management systems (such as Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control Systems – A-SMGCS, Multilateration – MLAT, Surface Movement Radar – SMR and Integrated Digital Tower Solution- IDTS).Working closely with your colleagues in Netherlands, US and Sweden, you’ll be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle – from requirements analysis and system configuration to deployment and commissioning.
The roles and responsibilities are as follows:
- Support the design, configuration, deployment, and testing of air traffic management systems in line with customer and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, OEMs, subcontractors, and customer stakeholders throughout the project period
- Perform system-level requirements analysis, traceability, and verification
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, interface control documents, and test procedures
- Participate in factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT), integration activities, and commissioning support
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues during installation, testing, and operational phases
- Ensure systems are delivered in compliance with aviation safety and cybersecurity standards
- Provide technical support for system upgrades, maintenance, and future enhancements
This is a 2-years contract position, with potential for contract extension or conversion to permanent position based on project requirements and performance. There will be a 6-months probation period.
Your experience and skills
For Mid-Level Systems Engineer role, you need to hold at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, and have at least 4 years of experience in a similar role. You may also be considered for Lead Systems Engineer role if you have more than 7 years of experience in a similar role.
We’re looking for someone with the following qualities/ experience:
- Knowledge in ATC domain
- Proficient in multiple technical areas, including software-defined networking, real-time data processing, and ATM system architectures.
- Solid understanding of ATM operations, including controller workflows, ATC procedures, and system dependencies
- Experience in system integration with external systems (e.g. surveillance sensor systems, airfield lighting systems, airport database systems)
- Familiar with international aviation regulations (e.g. ICAO Annex 10, EUROCONTROL standards) and safety requirements.
- Experience in requirement management and system configuration, system verification and validation
- Competent in stakeholder and customer management
- Strong verbal and written English
- Willing to travel for work
