As Vice President, Procurement, you will build and lead the global procurement function, shaping strategy, driving cost competitiveness, and securing the supplier partnerships that keep our fleet moving and our network expanding. This is a high-impact VP-level position for a commercially sharp procurement leader who thrives in fast-paced, scale-up environments and understands the unique demands of maritime and container shipping.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and execute a global procurement strategy that supports company's rapid network growth, fleet expansion, and cost optimization targets.
  2. Establish procurement as a strategic enabler, not just a cost centre, by aligning sourcing decisions with commercial, operational, and sustainability objectives.
  3. Lead end-to-end sourcing for critical categories including terminal services, feeder networks, depots, and equipment.
  4. Build and manage a global supplier portfolio, fostering long-term strategic partnerships with key vendors while maintaining a competitive multi-supplier environment.
  5. Develop and own a supplier performance management framework, including KPIs, regular reviews, and structured escalation processes.
  6. Drive supplier diversification and resilience planning to reduce single-source dependencies and geographic concentration risk.
  7. Lead high-value contract negotiations with terminals, feeder operators, suppliers, and service providers, securing commercially advantageous terms at scale.
  8. Develop and maintain a robust contract management system ensuring compliance, timely renewals, and effective enforcement of contractual obligations.
  9. Identify and capture savings opportunities across the procurement portfolio through rigorous benchmarking, competitive tendering, and total cost of ownership analysis.
  10. Oversee procurement performance dashboards and deliver regular reporting to senior leadership on spend analytics, savings delivery, and supplier health.
  11. Evaluate and implement procurement technology solutions to drive process efficiency and data visibility.
  12. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure procurement activities are fully integrated with business planning cycles.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field. Master's degree would be preferred.
  2. Minimum 10 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within shipping, container logistics, or maritime services.
  3. Demonstrable track record of leading procurement in a high-growth or scale-up environment, managing increasing spend complexity across multiple geographies.
  4. Proven ability to negotiate and execute high-value, multi-year contracts with global counterparties.
  5. Experience building or transforming a procurement function from the ground up is a strong advantage.
  6. Strategic thinker with a strong commercial mindset and the ability to balance cost discipline with operational agility.
  7. Exceptional negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
  8. Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to leverage data and spend analytics to drive decision-making.
  9. High resilience and comfort operating in ambiguity; able to make sound decisions at pace in a fast-moving environment.
  10. Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to manage supplier and internal relationships across multiple regions.
  11. Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  12. Ability to travel as required to manage procurement activities globally.
